DAY OFF, CONTACT LENS AND MY FIRST ACAI BOWL

I took a much-needed and well-deserved day off on Tuesday to finally get an eye exam and order contact lenses. Good news is my prescription has remained the same since my last exam two years ago. 

I also got to finally try an Acai Bowl with blueberries and granola at Costco.   I am hooked! To be able to eat the bowl slowly  and really enjoy it without having to rush brought such moment of simple joy.

NOTE TO SELF:  Self-care feels very good! Need to do more!

BRAND NEW BOOK GIVEAWAYS FROM THE SAN FRANCISCO PUBLIC LIBRARY

I got two more brand new books to keep from SFPL. They are both YA which is among the genre that I love to read. They are both award winners and I am looking forward to reading them.  I chose Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets Of The Universe and The Thing About Luck. 

MAC MAKEUP AND RECYCLING

I  badly  needed to replenish my makeup bag. I was out of  everything! I got a face powder and blush from Mac. I also brought in 6 empty Mac containers and I got a free lipstick! Yay! I went next door to Sephora and bought a Marc Jacobs eyeliner which is the brand that I use. 

TIP:  Mac's recycling program is awesome! Save your empty containers. When you collect 6, bring them in to any Mac store and you can choose a full-size lipstick -- a $18.99 value!

SATURDATE AT CHEESESTEAK

Mr Sweetie was badly craving cheesesteak so we went to Cheesesteak Shop in Oakland for date night. It was on Lakeshore, a charming neighborhood in Oakland that we have not been to in a while. We went for a stroll after dinner then bought pastries at Arizmendi. The sandwiches were good even though I opted for vegetarian. Still yummy! The we went home and watched more movies. I love lazy Saturdays with Mr Sweetie!

SUNDAY SHOPPING

This Sunday has been the second Sunday after my parents went back to the Philippines. I spent the first Sunday getting my hair done. This Sunday was for shoppping after church. I went to church, saw my family then I was off gallivanting. I bought presents for a friend, got myself a cute purse at TJ Maxx, went grocery shopping at  Grocery Outlets (San Jose) , finally checked out 111 Bakeshop that has been on my radar and got this baked pork and egg bun; stopped at my sis-in-law's house where she gave me pansit (noodles), then went to another Grocery Outlet in Oakland to get Mr Sweetie's bubbly water. Whew! Definitely a full day but it was nice to do these things for myself that I was not able to do for 7 months while my mom and dad were here. And yes, I miss them very much.

So, this week has been dedicated to "me time". I am grateful for the blessing of good vision and  for these moments of self-care. I really need to remember to schedule more of these moments for myself.
