Sacramento | Bar Hopping Date Night

Saturday, July 15, 2017

Last May, Mr Sweetie surprised me with a weekend getaway to Sacramento, CA. Sacramento is the state capital of California where Arnold Schwarzenegger served as the 38th governor from 2003-2010.

Sacramento is only less than 2 hours away from San Francisco and I have always wanted to visit again. Mr Sweetie remembered and booked us an overnight stay at the opulent and historic Citizen Hotel. He also had another surprise up his sleeve which were tickets to see Anuhea at Harlow's Restaurant and Nightclub. Well, it was really not a surprise because he mentioned this plan before but I was not sure how serious he really was at  going.

So, he planned everything. He made the hotel reservation and secured the tickets. We left Oakland on Friday afternoon, made a stop at McD for a bathroom break and Happy Meal for me. Ha! Ha! We arrived in Sacramento in the late afternoon and checked into our hotel. We Lyft-ed it to Harlow's but we were an hour early for the 9 pm show.

This brought us to Bar West where we hungout and stuffed ourselves with the appetizers above.  (The hotdog sliders were such guilt-ridden eats but I enjoyed every bite as I love hotdogs but rarely eat them!)

We really just went from one bar to another (two bars) so this probably cannot be considered a legit bar hopping post. These two have been enough for us, though.  Sacramento was exciting that evening. Bars were plentiful and a skip and hop away from each other. People were out and about to grab a meal or go clubbing. Lyft and Uber drivers were plentiful. The streets were decorated with fairy lights. No wonder, Sacramento is being predicted as being a red hot market in 2017, and it was not just because of the hot weather. So much is going on in this city!

The concert was really fun. I had another margarita during the concert  while Mr Sweetie had a beer.

It was a beautiful date night and a lovely summer evening of drinks and music.  I even included a picture of me to show the festive mood despite me being photo-shy. :)

  1. Those sliders look so good - I would definitely inhale them and feel guilty the moment I feel bloated lol

Mr Sweetie is definitely living up to his name with all this trip planning. Looks like a fun trip!
