Napa Valley | Fabulous Girls Afternoon at Flora Springs

Tuesday, October 3, 2017

My girls and I stumbled upon Flora Springs Tasting Room because we wanted to hit up one more winery before our picnic lunch. (Our first tastings were at Domaine Chandon followed by a visit to Peju Winery.)

Flora Springs is located right next to Dean and Deluca where we always buy our picnic supplies, and right across from V Sattui Winery where we have our picnic. This has been our first time at Flora Springs.

BFF treated us to a bottle of Flora Springs Sauvignon Blanc 2016, and the girls and I just parked ourselves at the sunny patio overlooking the vineyard. There were ripe grapes on the fence that I surreptitiously picked and ate. They were sweet off the vine! It was such a relaxing space to enjoy our glasses of chilled white wine.  The wine turned out to be fabulous! It was  clean and crisp with flavors of pear, honey dew and aromas of orange blossom. (Okay, this was the description on Flora Springs' website but I remember the wine as being very nice and I enjoyed it a lot!)

A couple of women gave us their unfinished bottles of wine as they were leaving and we gladly accepted. My girls and I had a fabulous afternoon just chillin', gossiping and just really had a wonderful time on that sunny,  summer-like fall afternoon in the Wine Country. This was a such a perfect and dreamy moment of girlfriendship.

Next stop, Dean and Deluca for delicious gourmet picnic food shopping....
