Napa Valley | Girls Picnic at V Sattui Winery

Monday, October 9, 2017

As always, delicious chaos ensues after a full day of wine tasting in Napa. Per our tradition, my girls and I conclude our trip by having a late lunch at V Sattui Winery's picnic grounds before heading back home to the San Francisco Bay Area. While being surrounded by towering giant oak trees and structure from the 1800's, this winery spells idyllic. While many wineries take pride in being elegant and sophisticated, V Sattui's is cozy and inviting.

We often buy our picnic lunch across the street at Dean and Deluca, V Sattui does not allow food not bought from its own deli. (We always sneak our food in, though! Ha! Ha! And get away with it.) We often do a tasting first at this winery before our picnic but we were already happily intoxicated from our previous tastings that we just decided to go straight to eating. We always buy 2-3 bottles of our favorite rose, Gamay Rouge, from this winery's Artisan Deli. V Sattui's deli could almost rival Dean and Deluca's offerings although on a slightly smaller scale.  So, if you do not want to test your fate that day, just buy your provisions at  V Sattui, or mix them up with your own home-bought picnic items.

This concludes our 2017 Girls' Napa Valley Wine Tasting Trip. We vow do this trip twice a year from now on -- in the spring and fall. And I am so thankful for having these beautiful, strong and fun women in my life that I share many bottles of delicious wines with year after year. Hoping and praying for many more of these wonderful moments of friendship!

Cheers and enjoy!
